Happy, Happy, Happy

Happy Half Birthday, Happy little swimmer, Happy about our flower filled yard!

We had such a wonderful week and weekend.  Leo turned 6 months old on the 25th and we celebrated with a cupcake and a Happy 1/2 Birthday tune.  Isla had her ISR refresher lesson and only needed one week for it all to come back to her.  The little mermaid is back.   Saturday afternoon was spent celebrating Isla's friends, Madison and Fenn's, birthdays.  Madison is cancer free and turned 3 and little brother Fenn turned one.  It was a wonderful celebration up in Atlantic Beach.  The 2 bouncy houses were a hit.  Isla didn't want to leave.  John and I went out for a date night after the party.  We ate bang bang and saucy shrimp up at the bar at Bonefish and then had some cocktails at Casa Marina afterwards.  So much fun!  Sunday was so beautiful so we had to take a walk to the park.  Afterwards we made a trip to Home Depot, like everyone else in Jax. Bch., and bought some pretty impatiens to plant under our Camphor tree.  Isla and her green thumb helped Daddy dig the holes and plant the flowers.  It looks gorgeous and I'm so excited about Spring.

Happy 6 Months, little Leo!

My Favorite time of the day is around 2:30...Leo and I are lying in bed after his nap and we wait on Isla to wake up and come pitter pattering down the tile hall into the bedroom to join us.  We all cuddle up and talk for a while and then watch a cartoon together.  It's such a calm part of the day and I cherish it so.  I love my two little angels.

These past 6 months, albeit a little tough, have been amazing!  My life is filled with so much love and happiness and I count my blessings each and every night.  Happy, Happy, Happy week to all of you!

Spring is Here!

Palms Spring Carnival was this past weekend which means spring is offically here! Isla could not wait for the carnival. It's all she has talked about for the past month. She had an amazing time with all the fun activities. Her preschool class was in charge of two booths which Gigi and John took turns working. Isla won lots of prizes and a huge chocolate cake which she won in the cake walk! She rode a pony for the first time and was a pro at it. The train was a huge success as always and so was the huge blow up slide. At the end of the morning Isla had consumed a snow cone, cotton candy, 2 lollipops, a corndog, frittos, and a sprite. I don't know how after eating all of that sugar she slept, but she crashed as soon as we got home. It was such a fun morning!
We can't wait till next year!

My American Idol

Here is my sweet little Isla singing "Love Story" by Taylor Swift. It's been her lullabye for the past year and a half and she knows all the words. She and I danced to this song together the moment I found out I was pregnant with Leo. I love this song for so many reasons and for all of the happy memories it brings me.

Little Leprechauns

My little leprechauns and I just hung out on Leo's first St. Patty's Day. We painted with green glitter glue, sprinkled green glitter and even decorated with green crystals during craft time. Later, John and I went up to the Brix with Brannon and my Dad for some Black and Tans and to toast my Irish grandad.

Here are my pots of gold snuggling with each other! They are the best!

Happiness in midst of sadness

In the midst of the sadness that I have felt over the weekend, I found happiness too in the moments with my children. We spent a morning in the front lawn, laying in the grass beneath our tree, balancing on a mini stone wall, singing and dancing to ring a round the rosy, swinging, drawing with sidewalk chalk and just enjoying each others company. I even took Isla to have her very first pedicure...which I'm sure is the first of many other mother/daughter mani/pedi outings. :) She LOVED it! For the whole hour she sat completely still in my lap with my toes and her toes soaking in the pool of warm water. She watched so closely everything the lady did to my toes. After the nice lady had massaged my feet and legs Isla looked up at me so sweetly and asked, "Is it my turn to get a massage, mommy?" Isla got a mini massage and then picked out bright purple polish for her toes and a pretty Easter pink color for my toes. We enjoyed sharing a Cherry Coke while our feet were pampered. I can't wait to share in these girly moments with my little Isla for many years to come. And sweet little Leo is just such a happy little guy. He can sit up now without using his hands for balance and play with tiny toys. He's napping a lot better too, which is nice for all of us. Thank goodness for my two kiddos who bring smiles to my face no matter what comes my way. Oh and I had to mention that John ran the River Run this weekend with a time of 1:08!!! He beat his last year time by 40 secs. Go Babe!!!
