First Day of Preschool

My baby girl started preschool at Palms Presbyterian this past Monday. It was so hard on me walking away from her when I've spent the last 2 years being with her 24/7. She on the other hand had no problem. She gave me a kiss and hug and started playing with all of her classmates. There are 11 kids in her classroom (8 girls and 3 boys.) Ms. Sheree and Ms. Stacy are her teachers...who she loves! When I came to pick her up after the first day, she apparently had been crying on and off for an hour. The poor little princess had such a red and wet face from her tears and wouldn't let go of me. I was heartbroken. But by the time I put her in the car she was fine and wanted to "do that again sometime." Little does she know she'll be doing this alot more times. :) The rest of the week has been pretty good...she is fine in the mornings and cries a little when she's ready to go home. I can tell she is really enjoying herself b/c she talks about her teachers and activies often. I've been nesting like crazy and the entire house is clean. Who knows what I'll do with my free time next week. I guess I need to just relax b/c in 5 weeks I'll have my hands full with baby #2. Time to do it all over again. :) Here are some pictures of Isla's first day.

Last minute summer fun!

Before summer came to a close we wanted to enjoy some last minute activies together. We took Isla to Adventure Landing where she loved playing guitar hero and riding the Caterpillar coaster. We also all went down to the beach to cheer Daddy on in the Summer Beach fun. Out of 1000 runners John got 47th place overall and 9th in his age division. Go Daddy! One of our favorite morning treats is Bagel World. Isla loves her blueberry bagel with Strawberry cream cheese. And we'll end the summer fun with a video of Isla counting in Spanish...all thanks to her friend Dora. What a fabulous summer we had with little Isla Lou.

5 Fabulous Years!

John and I celebrated our 5th anniversary Friday night, the 14th. Coach and Gigi stayed at our house while we enjoyed an elegant evening at the Ponte Vedra Inn. We were greeted in our room by a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Then we dined at the Seahorse Grille for dinner. We at Red Snapper, crab, lobster bisque and key lime cheesecake while looking out over the ocean. We had such an amazing night! I'm such a lucky lady and thank God for all my blessings. I can't wait to celebrate 50 more years with my babe!

The Last Ultrasound

We saw our little baby again last Wednesday, the 12th. I cannot believe how much pumpkin has grown since the last time...then again it was 12 weeks ago. It took me awhile before I realized what I was looking at on screen this time. The whole face took up the frame whereas before you could see the whole body in the frame. Our little baby is getting quite big. In fact he/she is already 4 lbs. 12 oz. and is measuring a week and a half bigger than I really am. I've been to the hospital twice within 2 weeks due to preterm contractions but all is well. I'm not dilating so that's good. They just had to give me a shot to stop the contractions both times. We need the little pumpkin to cook for just a while longer. :)

Happy Birthday, Coach!

We celebrated Coach's 69th birthday with a delicious meal. He grilled pork tenderloin on the grill and served it up with sweet potatoes and asparagus. Then we all got to partake in his strawberry cheesecake from Cinotti's. Yummy Yum! Happy Birthday, Coach! Here's to 69 more.

The beach fun continues

We spent another summer's day at the beach with Daddy this weekend. Thank goodness for John b/c I can barely stand up let alone run after Isla. She enjoys the beach so much and would go every day if we could take her.

32 Weeks!

I'm 32 Weeks pregnant today and the August heat is definitely getting to me. It feels like I'm stepping into an oven everytime I open the front door. Thank goodness we have the Ponte Vedra pool to go to so I can cool off. Last night we went to the pier and had some maternity photos taken of me, John and Isla. I can't wait to see how they turned out. Isla stayed dry for all of 5 minutes before diving into pools of water at the base of the pier pillars. She had a blast! The little pumpkin is so active these days and I feel he/she is going to jump right out of my tummy sometimes. :)

Dora, Dora, Dora!!!

I've never seen Isla as excited as she was the night of Dora Live. She couldn't stop talking about going to see Dora the whole day. Once we arrived at the Times Union Center she could barely contain herself. She had a smile on her face that stretched from ear to ear and her voice was about 4 times higher pitched than usual. She loved seeing Dora, Map, Swiper, The big red chicken, Tico, Isa and Benny. After about an hour into the show the poor thing was fading fast in my lap so we had to leave but this morning she woke up and asked to go back today. :) It was such a fun night! Adios!

Lunch Time

Just a clip of Isla while we were eating lunch together. In just 3 more weeks she'll be starting preschool and eating lunch with her little 2 year old friends. :( I'm going to miss our special meal time talks. Where did the time go?

The Nursery

Here's the little one's nursery... Since we are having a surprise we decided to decorate using off white, gold and silver. I made the hanging mobile by sewing and stuffing little birds Then I glued them to silver branches and tied them all together. They have little swarovski crystal eyes. The wall appliques are sliver tree branches with little gold birds flying around them. We hope the baby likes his/her sweet little sleepy spot.
