Leo is 5!

My first baby boy is now a handful of fingers old!  Leo is Five!!
He requested a Spiderman birthday party this year and wanted to invite all of his best friends from his class.  These kids were in the same 3 year old preschool class and were incredibly lucky to all move up together into the same VPK class.  They are the sweetest, cutest group of boys ever and I'm so glad Leo has found such great buddies in them all.

For the party I made a gigantic spider web out of yarn in the hallway and made a NY city skyline on the wall.  Then we threw around some black and white balloons and some spiderwebs throughout the house for the decorations.  Leo also wanted a bouncy house/slide combo, a pinata, and to play pin the web on Spiderman.  For food I served chik fil a nuggets, hotdogs, chips, and fruit and for his cake he requested chocolate cupcakes.  I whipped up a batch and made red chocolate spider webs for the top. The favors were spiderman cookies from cinottis, spiderman stickers, and "Spidey Spray" (silly string).  The boys had a great time "hanging" out together!

On his real birthday he woke up to a brand new big boy bike with handlebar brakes and a black razor helmet and also a "How to Train your Dragon" toy.  Leo wanted to eat dinner at Dick's Wings and have ice cream at home afterwards.

Leo, you continue to make Mommy and Daddy so very proud!  You are everyone's best friend, your classmates adore you (your teachers tell us they all want to do whatever you are doing and fight over who gets to rest next to you during nap time), you are the mediator at home and try to resolve any conflict to make sure everyone is happy, you love to color, play with legos (you are a master builder), play independently with your tiny toys, still snuggle with Bashful at night, you are a great eater, and prefer to drink water or chocolate milk, you love to zoom up and down our street and into the cul de sac on your bike, and you love to play with Max and Bryce across the street and even though they are 6 years older then you, they love it too!  We love you so much little potato head!

Happy 5th Birthday!

Half a Year

Link is 6 months old and I can't imagine life without him in it! He is the sweetest, most laid back baby and goes with the flow through everything! At 6 months Link is 16 lbs and 27 inches, he nurses all day long, he rolls everywhere, sits independently while playing with any toy he can grab, is trying to crawl by getting on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth, giggles at Palmer and Leo the most, does a high pitch squeal when he's pleased or happy with something, says "mamama" when he's crying, and loves peas, bath time, and wagon rides. His nicknames are Linky, Linky Doodle Doo, Doodle Bug, Doodle Doo, and Linky Dinky Dink. Here's a look at our Link through the past 6 months...

Life

Sunday, October 5

1. Church...love our Sunday morning routines: the 8:30 service and breakfast afterwards with our precious family!

2. A high of 75 degrees made for a gorgeous day!

3. Sunday night dinner in our backyard...pushes on the swing, gymnastics in the grass, looking for the moon In the sky.

Monday, October 6

1. Windows open and curtains billowing in the wind

2. Hot chocolate for an afternoon snack.

3. I made pulled BBQ chicken for dinner. Leo ate all of his salad and asked to be excused. I asked him if he ate some chicken. He said, "what chicken?" When I pointed to the BBQ chicken he said, "that's not chicken, it's mulch!" Hilarious!

Tuesday, October 7

1. Haircuts for my handsome boys

2. An orange, red, and blue sunset!

3. Palmer's special night! We had root beer, popcorn, and watched caillou together in bed. He must have said, "I love you mommy and daddy!" A million times. We love him so much!

Wednesday, October 8

1. A lunch date with a great neighbor and friend.

2. The way link grabs my face and slobbers all over it. He's teething and loves to gnaw on anything he can grab.

3. Selling baby stuff on craigslist...bittersweet but feels good at the same time.

Thursday, October 9

1. Having the splash park all to ourselves for a morning swim.

2. Family photo shoot at the community park. First photos where our "entire" family was present. Can't wait to see them!

3. Leo's special night! Root beer and popcorn in bed while watching football at his request! He smiled the whole time and told us it was his favorite night so far! (We are making this a monthly tradition, special time with each of our five babies)

Friday, October 10

1. Decorating the doorway with a new scarecrow.

2. Friday family dinner at Napolis.

3. Isla's special night! Root beer and pizza and watching "Live, with Kelly and Michael." She loved it and talked about "boyfriends" the whole time. We told her there will be no boyfriends till high school.

Palmer turns 3!

Palmer turned 3 on April 28th and he wanted a "Jake" themed party at My Gym! All his little friends enjoyed the entire morning jumping, swinging, and playing along to all the fun activities the instructors planned for them! Palmer had a smile stuck on his face the entire day! I think it was his "best day ever!" We love you, P-Nut!

Three:

Palmer loves Popsicles, candy, taking showers, riding on his scooter, playing golf and fishing with daddy, superheroes, Disney World, staying at home where he is comfy and cozy, and watching movies!
