Our white bodies were in desperate need of some Vitamin D so the minute the weather man said the temps were breaking 70, our beach bag was packed! Isla got dressed in her newest swimsuit (I’m kind of obsessed with little girls bathing suits so she’ll have a lot more by the time this summer is over) and poor little Leo squeezed into last year’s trunks. We packed fruit roll ups, PB&Js, poptarts, and juice boxes then ran out the door. We met the rest of Jacksonville down by Casa Marina and literally dove right into the sand. It was an absolutely gorgeous day! Isla and Daddy played in the sand dunes, Leo watched the Seagulls, we played giant hopscotch and tic-tac-toe, and Isla even jumped into the water. I cannot wait for all the beach days ahead with my little sand crabs.
Sunday we made a trip to The Home Depot and bought this years’ batch of Impatiens and Petunias for the front yard. Isla did such a good job planting them under the tree while Leo liked playing in the hose. He clearly didn’t like having his picture taken with Isla.
Snuggling on the couch with Coach while watching the Sound of Music. What a precious picture this is.
And here are a couple of my birthday pics. It was such a great day. I woke up being served coffee in bed and got to watch the morning news while John, Isla, and Leo made me breakfast. Then I had a hair appt. and met the whole family at Salt Life for lunch. In the afternoon we lounged around and went to the Fresh Market to pick out dinner. John and Isla made me a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting which was delicious. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my 32nd year. I’m a happy mama.
