Life is good!

When your weekend starts off by being surprised with your favorite flowers, hot pink peonies, you know it's going to be a good one. Thank you, John!

Isla has 2 more weeks left in her 2 year old preschool class. We are going to miss her teacher, Miss Sheree, so much. She has taught Isla so many things and we couldn't have asked for a better teacher for our daughters first year of school. As a goodbye gift we made this little canvas for her. They are Isla's fingerprints made into flowers.

Papa stopped by to play with the kids and took Isla to the park, her favorite thing to do with him. She had to sport her new socks from Target and even modeled them for us.

It was another hot one so we had to cool off at the beach. I found my old boogie board at my Mom and Dad's house so I gave it to Isla. She loved being pulled around by John and riding little waves in the shallow end. Little Leo turned 10 months old and is doing so much these days: pointing at everything, flipping through pages of books, waving, clapping, cruising around furniture, walking with his Lion walker and babbling up a storm.

Here he is pointing and waving at the same time

Life is good when you look in front of you and see your beautiful daughter, precious son, and love of your life and then you look up and see this amazing sky. What more could you ask for?

Leo loved being pulled around on shore too.
Isla spends her days coloring and drawing and discovered the sand was her new canvas. We had fun writing our names and tracing our bodies.

And a little fun before Sunday night dinner....Isla playing preschool pals on the computer and a trip to yogaberry to cool off. Leo is obessed with the cold yummy treat. At first he didn't know what to think of it but the last picture lets us all know he is hooked now.

Yes, Life is good!

Life is like a box of...

CHEERIOS!

I'll never forget the day I came out of the kitchen to find Isla chowing down on a tipped over box of apple cinnamon goodness.

And what did I find on Tuesday? That's right, like sister, like brother. They were the exact same age too. Leo's spill was a whole lot cleaner though. I wonder if it's a sign of how their personalities will be. We all know Isla is like her cheerios above; all over the place but sweet as can be. Leo's box of Cherrio crunch is like him too. He has been a little bit more contained with clusters of kisses handed out to mommy and daddy throughout the day.

They both satisfy my appetite!
I can't believe it's the middle of summer already. Sunday night dinners have never been hotter and the walks to the bridge are getting sweatier and sweatier. This past Sunday night, John caught a fiddler crab in an empty wine glass and Isla and Ava went wild over it.

Leo is loving all people food now. He was slow to start, but he will eat basically any food placed in front of him. His favorites at the moment are homemade guacamole, american cheese slices, peaches, black beans, broccoli, ham and chicken.

Isla is enjoying her summer and sharing it with her pink "barbie" that she drags everywhere she goes. She has been taking a baby ballet and tap class every Saturday in July and loves it. She practices the morning of so she'll be perfect in class. I'm amazed at how all the little 2 1/2 - 4 year olds stand so still and listen to the teacher so well. They are precious to watch in their little pink leotards and tights.

Leo is still keeping watch over the dishwasher...his favorite place to hang out.

Silly girl playing hide n go seek in the tub.
John and I enjoyed a Sunday night out with Brannon and Heather 2 weekends ago. We went to J. Alexanders for dinner and then it was off to the Veterans Memorial Arena to see my favorite singer, Michael Buble! He was amazing as usual! I absolutely adore him!

The middle of summer is here and we are soaking up every second of the heat, sweat, and fun.

And now for some cuteness.....

The Fourth of July

What a fun time we had celebrating the fourth. We went to the beach, hung out with friends, celebrated a couple birthdays, and of course spent time with family. Isla is NOT a fan of fireworks so the only ones we saw this year were little fountains that sprayed different colors. Even those had Isla covering her ears and ducking her head. But she did love painting her nails for the occasion.

And eating festive donuts...
Leo got to meet his adorable friend, Cohen and play on the beach for a little bit...until I realized that he just wasn't feeling good so I took him to the pediatrician who told me his ear infection came back. He was on a very strong antibiotic for a week and I'm happy to say that his ears are finally clear...hopefully for a long time.

A new favorite of Leo's is putting things in his mouth and crawling around with them hanging out. It is so funny!
Fourth of July morning we woke up and played on the porch until the humidity set in.

It was too hot to even go to the beach so we just played inside all morning. John and I rode our bikes around while Coach and Gigi babysat the kids during naptime. When everyone was awake it was time to get dressed for Sunday night dinner.

Alicia and I at a 4th party. I'm going to miss her so much. She and Hunter are moving to New York next month.
After a yummy dinner of hamburgers, hotdogs, deviled eggs, potato salad, and baked beans at Coach and Gigi's we took a walk down to the bridge.
We looked for fiddler crabs and laughed as they came out of their holes and waved their claws at us. Isla even did the "fiddler crab dance" on the bridge and as we walked home. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. She walked sideways like a crab, waving her arms, and would stop and wiggle her little bottom. Hilarious!
Here she is hiding as Coach lights a fountain firework on the bridge.....

Monday we decided we had to go to the beach since we missed it on the 4th...

It was a great holiday!
